Keith Beirne

We congratulate our minor star Keith Beirne who has signed on with Longford Town's first team. While we will undoubtedly miss the young man's talent and we wish him all the luck in the world .

JuniorA

Our second string proceeded to the knock out stages of Championship when they outscored Carrigallen on Friday evening last 1-19 to 0-11. This was a fast and furious game with both sides looking very fit. The first half was evenly contested with only four points separating the teams at the break. Indeed it would have been closer but for a brilliant save by Jason Farry in goals. Ronan Gordon was chief marksman scoring 6 points but Gavin Kelly,Seamus Kennedy, Ryan Murphy, David Mitchell and John McGuinness also got on the scoreboard. Ronan Gordon was supreme in the second half, scoring 1-5, Paul McLoughlin, Ryan Murphy and Ciaran Baxter helped him out with a point apiece. Shane Canning our young veteran was magnificent when moved to centre-field. Darragh Gordon, Shane Kilrane and Niall McGovern defended very well  Carrigallen to their credit never gave up and were well served by their forwards Dolan, Hackett, Doyle, McDermott and Bernard O Rourke. Our starting team was: J Farry, K Flynn, N McGovern, D Mitchell, A Tuthill, D Gordon, S Kilrane,S Conaty, K Keegan,S Kennedy, S Canning, R Murphy, R Gordon, G Kelly, C Beirne. Subs used J McGuinness and C Baxter.

Get Well

We wish Stephen Conaty a speedy recover following a serious elbow injury during the game on Friday evening.

Paul McLoughlin held the team together at centre field, while Jonathan Beirne and Shane Kilrane defended well. Alan Farry had one great save at a crucial time. The rest of the team was:K Reilly, S McGowan ,J Barry, C Keegan, S Mcguinness, E Harkin, J Cosgrave, D Wynne, S Kennedy. Subs, F McGuinness, C Conway, J Farrell.
