Under-12's
Our U-12's got under way last Monday evening 8th June away to Garadice Gaels. We came away with a good win. Our team was C. O' Leary, C. Niblock, M. Reynolds, N. Ward, R. Cunningham, D. Heslin. B. Davis, B. Naughton, S. Mulligan, C. McNulty, C. Reynolds, S. Hynes, O. Heslin, T. Crowe, J. Reynolds, M. Davis, R. Ward, L. McManus. We are playing Drumkeerin at home this Monday 15th June.

Gortletteragh School boys:
Gortletteragh schools boys went to the final this year in 13-a-side. It's been a few years since we fielded a 13- a-side in the school-boys competition. Unfortunately we were not victorious on the day with a final scoreline of 3-8 to 3-6. This team was made up of boys from fourth, fifth and sixth class and two girls from sixth class. We were however awarded the prize for the most colourful club on the day, well done to all who added to our colour.  We went on to win the Turlough                              Conefrey tournament in Aughavas afterwards. Thanks to Aughavas for a great day and lots of refreshments for all.

Seniors
The senior team got back on track at the weekend when they returned to winning ways with a victory over Drumkeerin in Division 1 on Saturday evening last.  The return of some of our injured players including Niall Woods and our Leaving Cert students who took time out from revision made a big difference on the evening.  There will be a break for a few weeks until we see how the qualifiers go for our County Senior team. The team was Sean Bohan, Mark Mitchell, David Mulvey, Niall Duffy, James Campbell, Niall Woods, Evan Ward, Cathal Quinn, Francie Flynn, Colm Duffy, Cathal McCrann, John Reynolds, Jack Heslin, Conor Reynolds and Neil Quinn.  Subs used;  Kevin McGrath, Barry Tiernan and Conan Clarke.

Division 2:
Our Division 2 game due to be played Sunday morning was cancelled as a mark of respect to the late Paschal Cassells whose son Peadar is a member of our Senior and Junior squads.  Thanks to Cloone GAA for their understanding as the game was only cancelled minutes before it was due to start.  Most of all, the club would like to sympathise with Peadar and all the Cassells family on the death of Paschal.  May he Rest in Peace.

Longford Rose:
Congratulations to Daphne Howard who was chosen to represent Longford in the upcoming Rose of Tralee Festival.  Daphne is daughter of Richie who played for the club in the past.  Her Uncle Tom Howard is a popular member and supporter of our club.  We hope Daphne enjoys the build-up to Tralee and wish her the very best of luck in the final and the year ahead.

Fundraising Cycle:
The Club's Annual Fundraising Cycle takes place next Sunday 21st June.  There will be a 15K and 30K cycle with both cycles starting and finishing at the GAA pitch.  Registration takes place from 8:30 to 9:15 and cycle starts at 9:30.  Entry Fee is €15 for an adult, €5 for a child and €25 for a family.  There will be prizes for the best time and the most original novelty cycle.
