Centre of Excellence

Mohill under 10's & under 12's had a great day out at Connacht GAA centre of excellence last week. 35 lads along with coaches and 10 parents had a day of coaching with John Tobin an excellent fountain of knowledge and games with Eastern Gaels from Mayo. We couldn't have been looked after better and had the use of the fantastic facilities from 10am till 2 pm. Big thanks to Mary Prenty wife of Connacht Council Secretary John who arranged the day with Bórd na nÓg coach Paul Murphy in January at our Park Rededication. Well done to all our Bórd na nÓg Committee for their

Under14

These boys had a comfortable win over a tough Melvin Gaels team in their first outing. The team was well marshalled by their manager Paul Tighe who had them well disciplined and motivated going on to the pitch. On Friday evening they ran into an extremely good Fenagh  team. The Mohill boys to their credit fought till the end but Fenagh were the victors. Training will continue in the Philly McGuinness Park on Wednesdays at 7 - 8pm.

Sean McGuinness

We must congratulate minor player Sean McGuinness who has been offered a Rugby Scolarship to Athlone IT.  Sean who has been playing exceptionally well with Longford RC will hopefully continue playing in both codes. Both games enhance each other as we see from our International Team.

Caillin Canning

Nice to see Caillin back doing light gym work after a horrendous year of surgery and complications. Hopefully we will see him on the playing fields soon. Alan Armstrong is also slowly making a comeback from serious ankle surgery. These young men go through a lot of pain for their Club which goes mostly unnoticed by the general public.

County Team

Our County team had their first win of the League campaign on Sunday last. Mohill had a  great representation on the team with Daniel Beck,  Ronan Gallagher, Ronan Kennedy starting and Shane Quinn introduced. Alan McLoughlin was injured in training.

Ladies

Our Ladies Senior team were beaten on Sunday morning by Kiltubrid,  but mostly Kiltubrid's success must go to the magnificent Áine Tighe who despite having played games on Friday and Saturday and carrying an injury scored at least five goals to break our great ladies hearts and win by two points.

Division 3

Our second string drew with Aughavas on Sunday morning last.

Topaz Cash for Clubs

We wish former underage player Vinny Kilrane a speedy recovery to health in New York where he was involved in a serious accident. Vinny is thankfully recovering well.
