JUNIOR LEAGUE.
The division 5 league starts this week end and we are drawn to play St Mary's at their home ground on Saturday evening at 5 pm. It is vitally important that all eligible junior players are asked to be available for this fixture. Fielding a second team is very important as it gives an opportunity for all players to get competitive football. Please be at the venue in good time.
SHIELD GAME.
We had a three point win over Gortletteragh in the Shield competition on Sunday morning last in the park on a score line of 2 7 to 1 7. While neither team were at full strength it was a useful and entertaining game. By virtue of this win we are now in the semi- final of the shield where our opposition will be Ballinamore Sean o Heslin's and this game is provisionally scheduled for Sunday 29 March. The team has performed very well in the shield competition which augurs well for the upcoming league which is scheduled to start on April 11th.Team on Sunday last C Casey, K Reynolds, D Brennan, D Tiernan, S Maguire, G Reynolds, S Reynolds, B Mulvey, A McGovern, M Bohan, A Nichols, D O Donnell, P Harte, R Mulvey E Keegan. Subs used F Reilly, L Reynolds, A Beirne, and A Canning.
CONNACHT MINOR LEAGUE.
On Friday night last we hosted the first round of the Connacht Minor league game Leitrim V Sligo, in what was a close and entertaining game. Leitrim lost out by the narrowest of margins with Sligo getting the winning point with the last kick of the game. Leitrim put in spirited performance and were unfortunate to lose by a point. Next outing is against Roscommon next weekend, best of luck to team and management. Our club as represented by Darren Keegan who was unfortunate to receive a black card early on.
ALLIANCE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
We didn't have a game at the weekend as we entertain London in the Alliance National Football league in Pairc Sean MacDiarmada on this Sunday at 1 pm. Please note the time.. Following a very spirited performance against Offaly last day out we look forward to the challenge of London and hopefully two valuable league points can be achieved. Best of luck to all involved.
