It was with great sadness that last Thursday we learned of the death of Honory President of Aughawillan GAA, Eileen Prior (nee Gilheany ) . Eileen was a life long member of Aughawillan GAA and fed the souls of many of our present day players and family's with a love of football. Her dedicated passion for the game saw her always available to bring youngsters to games, packing the car to capacity and instilling in them a belief in the game and the club. In failing health last year the senior team of 2014 felt privileged and showed great respect for a lady who held her position within the club with great reverence, as the night before the County Championship she came down to the clubrooms to give the new club jersey to each player. Eileen's strong catholic belief saw her attend the game with the rosary beads in one hand and her colors in the other, her faith and dedication to Aughawillan GAA were strong building blocks in her character. We wish to offer Eileen's family our deepest condolences at this sad time. Is féidir sí a chuid eile i suíocháin.
