Mohill
AGM
The AGM was well attended on Sunday evening last in the Clubrooms. Most of the officers remained in their posts with the addition of some new blood in vital areas. Congratulations were in order for the great work achieved in 2014 by all the working club members. The Park now is in great shape with a large parking area laid out inside the grounds and an elevated embankment at the Dromod end for a better view of the action. The volunteers who are in the process of painting and titivating the buildings were thanked by the top table. Our Joint Treasurers Siobhán Doyle and Frank McGowan showed the Club finances in a healthy state but more fundraising will be needed in 2015, Steve Macklin having worked with Bord na nÓg fundraising for the last few years will now be Asst Treasurer. Paul Murphy was appointed Asst Secretary. All the other elected officers were the same as last year. The membership fee for this year is as follows: Players €50, Students with cards €40. Non Players €30, 6yrs to 18yrs €30, and Under 6 €20. There is a €5 reduction for each member in the Family Membership. All paid up members are in a draw for 2 hurling and 2 football All Ireland tickets in September
Rededication
Preparations are under way for our big Rededication Day on January11th. The Park will be officially called the Philly McGuinness Park in honour of our dear departed young player Philly. It is hoped to have a big name from Croke Park unveiling the plaque and we will have the honour of holding an inter County FBD game on that day also. We thank the members of the County Board who have made all this possible. Please come out and help if called upon.
St Manchan's U-21
Congratulations to Gortina who out- scored us on Sat last in the Under 21 Final. Our lads played their hearts out and were unlucky to lose the services of Darragh Gordon in the second half through injury but Gotina were best on the day and we say well done to them. We wish Darragh a speedy recovery. This was the last game of the year so we take this opportunity to thank all our players, young and not so young who have represented this club with enthusiasm all year. There will be a report of the final elsewhere in this paper.
Bereavements
We extend deepest sympathy to the Kelleher family Cloone on the sad death of Michéal last week. His daughter Anne and son-in-law Stephen Macklin are active members of Mohill Club and their son Conor is a rising star with the Under 12s. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé. We also commiserate with the McGuinness family Drumboy and the Mulligan family Shannagh Grove on the death of their Aunt Maureen in Dublin. May she rest in peace.
Tony Coffee
Best of luck to our physio Tony and his family as they go to live in Dublin. Tony will be sorely missed by all our teams for his way below cost medical attention. He was also to the fore in all of our fundraising ventures.
Soccer Tournament
Seamus Kennedy is once again organising a Soccer Tournament in the Sports Complex this weekend.
Scór na nÓg
We wish our young figure dancers and our Grúpa Ceoil success and a great evening in the County Scór final this weekend. Róisín Kennedy would appreciate your continued help.
