Gortletteragh GAA club notes

November 11, 2014

Hurling:
Michael Carroll, representative of the Connacht Hurling Development Committee will host a meeting in the Community Centre on Wednesday night 12th at 7.30pm with a view to promoting underage hurling in Leitrim.  Parents and all those interested in hurling are asked to attend.  This meeting is open to all Clubs represented by Gortletteragh Hurling Club.

Sympathy:
The Club would like to offer its sympathy to the family and friends of the late Fr Thomas Flynn who was buried in Gortletteragh on Monday last.  We also offer our sympathy to the family and friends of the late Kieran Reynolds, Carrick-On-Shannon whose funeral took place on Monday last.  May they Rest in Peace.

Aughawillan:
Despite a bad weekend for Aughawillan Seniors, we would like to congratulate them on their achievements so far this year.  They started the year outside the group of favourites for the Championship but they showed the spirit and determination that they have always been known for, to emerge worthy champions.  In doing so, they have given hope to all clubs who would not be mentioned as contenders.  We also sympathise with them on the death of one of their former stalwarts Sean Flanagan who passed away in California recently.

Fixtures:
The Gortletteragh/Fenagh team take on Sean O'Heslin's in the Under 21 Championship in Ballinamore on Saturday next at 3pm.  The Division 3 league Final is now likely to take place on the weekend after next.
