Dromahair goalkeeper Kieran Meehan admits winning an intermediate title after so many years was well worth the wait.

Meehan admitted to the Leitrim Observer that Dromahair had a number of players that had been trying to win the title for the past ten or 15 years.

However, last Sunday's win over Ballinamore made up for all the previous years' heartache, according to Meehan.

"It's fantastic, there are a few here that have a lot of miles on the clock and have been playing for 10/15 years some of us. It has been a long time coming," said Meehan.

"Two years ago we thought we should have won it and then we got a surprise last year but we have been there or thereabouts for the last 6 or eight years and it's great to get over the line."
