Kiltubrid club notes

Fixtures &Results
Drumriley brought us back down to earth on Saturday evening in round 2 of the senior championship when they defeated our senior outfit. The game was played in ideal sunny conditions; however Drumriley got an all important goal just before half time. They found the net in a fortuitous manner when the ball came back off the upright where an inrushing Drumriley forward had a simple tap in. This was followed up with two further quick points before half time. Six points down with all to do in the second half, Kiltubrid aided by the breeze didn't manage to make sufficient headway with Drumriley holding out for a deserved win on a final score line of Kiltubrid 1-7 , Drumriley 1-10. This defeat means that we now need a win in the final game to be certain of progressing in the competition. The final senior championship round group games won't be for a couple of weeks as there are a number of league games fixed over the coming weeks.
On Sunday morning our second string had a comprehensive win against Melvin Gael in Drumkeernan in round 2 of the junior A championship. We ran out winners on a score of 2-08 to 0-04. This win means Kiltubrid now top the group and will progress to the quarter final stage with a game still to play.
The under 14 Championship commences next Monday evening, July 14th, with an away game in Manorhamilton at 7 pm. Kiltubrid are placed in the 13 aside section of this competition.

A massive well done to the Leitrim ladies and especially the Kiltubrid ladies on the panel on a great win in the Connaught Intermediate Final. Congratulations to Kiltubrids ladies sharpshooter Áine Tighe who received the Player of the Match award after scoring a very impressive 2-5.
