Hagan considering his future

Leitrim manager Sean Hagan
Sean Hagan is considering his future as Leitrim senior football manager.

Leitrim started the year in impressive fashion by retaining the FBD Connacht league crown but their season ended in embarrassing fashion at Newry last weekend. The manager, who was only appointed for one year anyway, says he would have been taking stock regardless of how the Qualifier against Down panned out:

"I suppose I had my mind made up to do that regardless of how we did, was I going to take a break," he states in The Leitrim Observer.

"From experience, you can't rush decisions on the spur of any one result.

"So, what I'll do is analyse the situation, chat to all the members of the backroom team plus all the boys who finished the year playing for Leitrim.

"Obviously, we'll make a collective decision after that. Obviously, the County Board will have to discuss that as well. It was only a one-year contract."
