Hagan concedes that promotion dream is over

Sean Hagan has accepted that Leitrim's promotion challenge is "realistically over".

The FBD Connacht league winners have only a very slim mathematical chance of forcing their way back into the promotion picture after last weekend's drubbing at the hands of Tipperary. They would need to beat London convincingly and hope that Antrim hammer Clare and that Wicklow also fail to win against Tipperary.

"Being realistic, I think that's it," Hagan says in The Leitrim Observer. "I suppose when we look back and analyse the whole league, it was Dungarvan that undid us.

"Promotion is probably gone but the first thing we have to do is get back and lift the lads' spirits again. It is all geared towards championship from here on in.

"After the London game, we'll probably have a little bit of a break and analyse all of our league performances. Then we go back, get the structure all set up again and it will be all guns blazing for the championship."
