With New York safely negotiated, Leitrim's Tomas Beirne is looking forward to the next round.

Beirne produced a Man of the Match performance at midfield on Sunday as the Exiles were put to the sword at Gaelic Park and his thoughts immediately turned to the Connacht SFC semi-final meeting with either Sligo or London:

"New York put it up to us for the first 20 minutes and it took us a little time to get to grips with them," the Eslin clubman tells the Leitrim Observer.

"We are certainly happy to have the win and to have the fixture over. It is a lot different getting ready for the game.

"We had FBD and league games but the waiting involved here after you arrive, you want to get it over with. We are delighted with how it worked out.

"There was great support for us, which was brilliant. Now we are just looking forward to the winners of Sligo and London in the next round." Tweet
