Leitrim manager Terry Hyland has stressed that every game is must win for the rest of the FL4 campaign.
A draw and a defeat see the Connacht side with one point from their opening two games as they prepare to face neighbours Longford this weekend.
If they were to lose that game, Leitrim would find themselves in a relegation battle after just three rounds of the campaign.
Hyland is not panicking but he did stress to the Leitrim Observer that every point is valuable from here on in.
“Every game is a must win game because if you don’t get results, you back yourself into a corner,” Hyland explained to the Leitrim Observer.
“Whether it is Longford or whether it is Offaly you are playing, you have to prepare for them. Maybe, psychologically, Leitrim has a thing about playing Longford which is great but I’m sure Longford have the same thing about playing Leitrim.
“You have to look at it as a 50-50 game and whoever perseveres comes out on top at the end. If we are good enough to do that we’ll be where we want to be.”
