Underage Presentation Night:
2019 was a successful year for us at underage level and on Sunday 22nd of December last we presented medals to our U12’s, U13’s and U15’s. We extend a very big ‘Thank you’ to our own Cathal McCrann and Jack Heslin and “Leitrim player of the Year 2019” Shane Moran for doing the presentation. Shane gave a great account on how he became the ‘best’ player in Leitrim and all the hard work that goes along with it. Thanks to Terry Kellegher for doing MC for the night. We also held our Christmas Hamper draw which was a huge success and congratulations to the winner Niall Donlon,Tooman.  We’d like to thank everyone who helped out on the night, from doing the sound, taking photos, organising the hall before and after the event, preparing and serving refreshments and all who sponsored prizes for the hamper. A big thanks to all the underage players who made the Christmas Hamper draw such a great success. A special thanks to Santa for making an appearance on the night!! Once again, a big well done to the successful U12’s, U13’s and U15’s. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and looking forward to more successes in the future.

Park Development:

Gortletteragh GAA Club is currently in the middle of an ambitious facilities development. The development includes the construction of a new full-size sand based all-weather pitch adjacent to existing pitch, a community walking track around the existing pitch and new pitch and it’s also hoped to construct a community playground. The inclusion of a walking track at the GAA club grounds offers all generations of the community the chance to maintain a healthier lifestyle in a safe and community friendly way. The development aims to provide facilities that will secure the success of current and future generations in Gortletteragh. It will become an excellent amenity and focal point for our parish and our community.

Work is well advanced on the new pitch and the walkway. The work on the pitch commenced in 2018 and involved the stripping and stockpiling on the topsoil. A considerable amount of soil was moved in the cut and fill to bring playing area to the required level. Work then stopped for the winter to allow soil to settle. In 2019 further progress was made with the drainage works completed. The next stage is laying of topsoil, sand and seeding.

A development fundraising initiative is ongoing. Many people have given generously to this over the last number of years and we would like to thank these donors for their support. We would love to get more people on board this fundraising drive. For further details on how you can contribute to this ambitious project please contact Terry Kelleher on (087) 7381996 or Colum Fox on (087) 2624718.
