Leitrim SFC: Glencar/Manor and Ballinamore make final

Glencar/Manorhamilton and Ballinamore are through to the Leitrim SFC final.

In the first of the semi-finals at Avantcard Pairc Sean MacDiarmada on Saturday, Glencar/Manor defeated Melvin Gaels by 0-17 to 1-11. Darragh O'Reilly scored the game's only goal in the 12th minute, but the winners recovered to lead by 0-9 to 1-4 at the interval. Six unanswered points from Evan Sweeney, Darren Sweeney, Conor Dolan and Niall Dolan in the third quarter extended Glencar/Manor's lead, with the Gaels losing goalkeeper Gareth Phelan to a red card in the 44th minute.

Ballinamore joined Glencar/Manor in the final yesterday thanks to a 1-14 to 0-13 win over Mohill.

With Shane Moran, Barry McGovern and Wayne McKeon in fine scoring form, Ballinamore took a 0-8 to 0-5 lead into the break and sealed victory with a Luke Murphy goal five minutes after the restart.
