Weekend Results

Win and a loss this weekend as the Seniors couldn't find a late goal against Aughnasheelin finishing 1-15 to 2-7 on Saturday evening. Juniors got off the mark in Division 4 on Sunday with a 2-20 to 2-08 win over @GaaAughavas . Both games at home and great support for both teams so thanks to all for your support

U12s

Our U12s boys went to Croke Paric for a blitz and a tour of the grounds last Tuesday. We played three games:  Drumcliff, Ballygar and  Ballinrobe. We competed very well with all the teams and it was great to see our up and coming stars take to the field and looked quite comfortable playing in our national stadium.  It was a great day out for the lads. A big thank you to the coaches and everyone who helped to organise the trip. Well done boys.

U15s

We played our fist game last Thursday at home against St Mary’s. We started the game at a great pace and kept St Mary’s under pressure in the first half. Halftime score Gort 1-05 to  St Mary’s 03. . St Marys came into the game more in the second half. It was really end to end football and as St Mary’s piled on the pressure they hit us with three goals in quick succession. We fought back with a  few well taken points and then we were awarded a penalty which we converted. Heading into stoppage time St Mary’s struck their fourth goal and left us trailing by 3 points. We tapped over a free to leave two in it. Well into injury time we won possession and after a lovely passage of passing we hit the back of the net to win by one point. It was a great display by our lads. Next game is away to St Joseph’s.

Weekend Fixtures

The Junior team take on Leitrim Gaels at home Saturday evening at 7 pm. Support for the lads much appreciated.
