Gortletteragh club notes

April 09, 2019

U17

Hard luck to the U17 who lost out to Fenagh in the U17 Division 2 League  Semi Final on Friday night. The lads have a solid campaign behind them and will look to build on this later in the year.

Senior League

The Seniors were minus some players for the opening round of the league and ran into a well drilled Fenagh outfit making their return to Division 1 and were the much stronger team on the evening. Final score 3-14 to 1-10.

Congratulations to Cian Mulvey, Jamie Quinn and Oisin Niblock who made their first senior starts for the club at the weekend.

Junior League

The Juniors were also short man power fielding the bare 15 on Sunday against St Mary's and coming out three-ring side of the scoreline on they day. They have a break next weekend before their next fixture.

Championship Draw

This year's championship draw was held on Monday night last and we will renew acquaintances with Mohill and Drumreilly while facing last years semi finalists Glencar Manor, Melvin Gaels and Fenagh in group 1 of the Connacht Gold SFC. And exciting slate of games to look forward to come the summer.

Gortletteragh Underage Football are holding their Annual Table Quiz on Friday the 19th of April (Good Friday) in the Community Centre Kicking off at 8.30pm. Adult Table x 4 €40, Junior Table x 4 €20. There will be a raffle with great prizes on night & refreshments served also. Always a great night's craic so make sure to round up a team and join us on Friday night the 19th.

Weekend fixtures.

Just one game this weekend in the Dunne's Bar ACL Div 1 as Melvin Gaels travel down to Cornageeha on Saturday for a 7 o clock throw in in round 2 of the league. Support much appreciated for the first home outing of the year for the lads.

We extend our sympathies to the O'Neill families on the sad passing of Olivia Harte last week. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
