Check out who made our hurling team of the week following two absorbing penultimate stage encounters...
1. Nickie Quaid (Limerick)
Produced one of the saves of the championship when timing his flick on Seamus Harnedy to perfection just as the Cork captain was about the pull the trigger.
2. Adrian Tuohy (Galway)
Tasked with the job of policing Podge Collins, the Beagh clubman held his direct opponent scoreless.
3. Mike Casey (Limerick)
Casey and his defensive colleagues were put through the wringer but finished up on the right side of the scoreline.
4. Richie English (Limerick)
Had his hands full with Shane Kingston but kept battling away and got his reward in the end.
5. Padraic Mannion (Galway)
The reliable Ahascragh-Fohenagh clubman is enjoying a great year in the Tribesmen's half-back line.
6. Colm Galvin (Clare)
Cut off the supply line to the Galway full-forward line when dropping back as sweeper and was the launchpad for numerous Banner County attacks.
7. Johnny Coen (Galway)
Won't care to be reminded about the missed opportunity to win the game for the holders but, overall, put in an industrious shift.
8. Darragh Fitzgibbon (Cork)
Sent over four points and the Rebel County badly missed his presence around the middle third of the field after his participation was ended by injury in the 77th minute.
9. Cian Lynch (Limerick)
Took his goal chance with aplomb and his work-rate in the Treaty County's engine room was immense.
10. Peter Duggan (Clare)
A five-star performance from Duggan that yielded 14 points, including a sensational second-half effort that will be talked about for years to come.
11. Joe Canning (Galway)
Galway supporters are keeping their fingers crossed that the 'Hurler of the Year' recovers from the knee injury that forced him off in extra-time.
12. Daniel Kearney (Cork)
Raised three white flags and set up more, Kearney was the Rebel County's most influential player and it was a pity that his involvement was curtailed by injury.
13. Aaron Gillane (Limerick)
Made up for some missed goal scoring opportunities with 0-13, including six from play.
14. John Conlon (Clare)
As anticipated, enjoyed a ding-dong battle with Daithi Burke and grew in prominence as the game progressed, sending over four valuable points.
15. Shane Dowling (Limerick)
Limerick's substitutes swung the semi-final in their favour and Dowling led the way with a return of 1-4 after his 57th minute introduction.
