Leitrim manager Brendan Guckian is set to sit down with the Leitrim County Board to discuss his future in the coming weeks.

Guckian has hinted at staying on in the position following their elimination from the qualifiers at the hands of Monaghan last month.

The Connacht side defeated New York in the provincial campaign, before being ousted by Roscommon in the semi-final. They then defeated Louth in the opening round of the qualifiers, despite missing a number of players who had opted off the panel.

They also earned a lot of plaudits for their performance against Monaghan battling to the very end against the Division One side.

However, it remains to be seen if the Leitrim County Board are keen for Guckian to stay. If he is given another term, then his first task will be to seek out a new trainer after Michael Moyles revealed that he was stepping down from the position.
