Minors begin Leinster campaign

April 19, 2017

The Laois minor footballers take to the pitch this weekend as they welcome Louth to O'Moore Park for the opening round of the Leinster championship.

Having made the Leinster final last year, Laois will be hoping to go one step further this year, but they have lost a number of players from 2016.

Manager Noel Delaney can call on the likes of Alan Kinsella, Diarmuid Whelan, Robert Tyrrell and Ciaran Comerford from last year's squad and preparations for Saturday's clash have gone well.

Laois have a number of dual players in their ranks, most of who lined out in the defeat to Dublin last weekend.

Louth lost all three of their Leinster league games and so Laois will be slight favourites to advance in this one.
