Lillis feels at 'home'

October 07, 2015

Palatine manager Mick Lillis believes that he has a close affinity with the club.

Despite being a Clare native, Lillis has certainly become part of Palatine's history as he guided them to the county SFC title back in 2006 and now they are just 60 minutes away from doing the same on Sunday.

Standing in their way is an experienced Old Leighlin side that have won the county title three times in five years, but Lillis told the Carlow Nationalist that he is confident that his charges are good enough to win this weekend.

"I have always felt at home in the club. I have always got on well here. Not like other places where you can get plenty of criticism but that comes with the nature of the business," said Lillis.

Lillis will step down from the role when the campaign ends as he prepares to take over the Laois senior footballers.
