Stephen Maher has emerged as a major doubt for IT Carlow's Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-final against LIT on Tuesday after injuring his collarbone in Laois' heavy Allianz League defeat to Waterford last night.

Laois manager Seamus Plunkett couldn't confirm afterwards whether or not 'Picky' had dislocated his shoulder during the first half of the 0-12 to 3-21 loss in Dungarvan. If it transpires that he has, the Clough-Ballacolla sharpshooter could miss the remainder of the O'Moore County's Division 1B campaign.

IT Carlow were reinstated to the Fitzgibbon Cup on Thursday following a successful appeal against the decision to throw them out of the competition.
