Ballinakill manager Frankie McGrath believes that the hard work that his players put in paid off as the claimed the county SHC B title last weekend.

A 0-22 to 1-12 win over Mountrath earned Ballinakill the win as they make a return to the top flight for next year's campaign.

"I'd like to pay tribute to the Ballinakill lads," McGrath told the Waterford News & Star. "They trained tremendously well all year and they fully deserve their victory. Their goal from the start of the year was to win this competition.

"They wanted to be up there playing senior hurling with the big guns. Their commitment was unreal and I'm delighted for them because they got what they deserved."
