The Division 1A clash of the Munster and Leinster champions will take place under lights at Pairc Ui Rinn on St. Valentine's Day, which falls on a Saturday. All-Ireland finalists Tipperary are bound for Dublin the next day, while Galway will be at home to last year's All-Ireland champions Clare.

The standout first round game in Division 1B is the meeting of Munster rivals Limerick and Waterford, who were relegated from the top flight last season.
