Phelan disappointed

Laois minor manager Laurence Phelan admits that he is bitterly disappointed by their tame exit from the Leinster MFC.

The O'Moore County went out at the semi final stage to defending champions Kildare last weekend as the Lilywhites ran out comfortable winners.

Speaking to the Leinster Express, Phelan said: "We are very disappointed, we had a process that we started at the beginning of the year and we said we'd leave no stone unturned.

"We came up against a very physically strong Kildare team, and all we as Laois people can do is just learn from it. They were just on a different level to us, and we just have to take our defeat and move on."
