Leinster MFC: Lilies qualify for decider

July 05, 2014
Kildare 3-11
Laois 0-5

Kildare booked their place in this year's Leinster MFC decider with an emphatic 15-point victory over Laois in the semi-final at Newbridge today.

Three first half goals from Michael Kelly, Rory Feely and Conor Hartley placed the winners in the driving seat and they held a commanding 3-3 to 0-2 lead at the halfway stage.

Stefan Lawlor opened the scoring for the Lilywhites with a point in the 8th minute and Kelly raised the game's first green flag 12 minutes later.

Athy's Feely - who replaced Sean Dempsey before throw-in - pounced for a second goal two minutes before the break and goal number three arrived courtesy of Hartley in first half added-on time.

Tom Shiel and David Aston pulled points back for Laois at the start of the second-half but that proved to be as good as it got for the visitors.

Kildare's reward is place in the Leinster MFC final on July 20 at Croke Park where they will face the winners of Dublin and Offaly.
