There will be changes to Brian Cody’s backroom team for next year as the long-serving Michael Dempsey is stepping down as S&C coach and selector.

The Irish Independent is reporting that the former Laois footballer is stepping away from the role he has heled since 2005.

He was at Cody’s side for eight All-Ireland SHC successes during his 15 year involvement.

There are also question marks over selector Derek Lyng’s future involvement.

The Emerald’s clubman has been a selector since 2014.
