Ross King Laois

No, it’s not in reference to Game of Thrones, but Laois manager Eddie Brennan’s thoughts on the return of former captain Ross King.

This Saturday evening, Laois begin their Joe McDonagh Cup campaign with a trip to Tullamore to face Offaly at O’Connor Park.

Brennan revealed to the Leinster Express that preparations for the championship have been boosted by the return of one of their talisman.

King had left the squad after he suffered a bad mouth injury in a club game last year, but made his return to the squad last month.

“You always need your best players available  no matter what county you are from. There is no doubt about it, Ross King is a really talented hurler and it’s brilliant to have him back in the squad,” said Brennan.

“He is a guy that understands his body, he understands hurling and where he needs to be, so to be fair I was pleasantly impressed with how well he came back in and he’s a guy who strives to be as good as he can be.”
