Laois' fifth visit to Croker in 12 months

The Laois team huddle ahead of the Division 4 final against Carlow at Croke Park

Possibly only Dublin have played in Croke Park more times than the Laois footballers over the course of the past 12 months.

Indeed, the O’Moore County will head for GAA headquarters for the second time this year when they take on Westmeath in Saturday’s FL3 final.

Having lost home advantage due to a breach of rules last year, Laois played Louth in Croker in an earlier round in the league.

On that occasion, they lost to the Wee County, while they also lost to Dublin in the 2018 Leinster SFC final at Croker.

They did have success on their previous two occasions there last year, firstly defeating Carlow in the FL4 final, while they also defeated the Barrowsiders in the provincial semi-final.

On Saturday, they will be hoping to take their record at Croker to 3-2 over the last year, but they face a tough test against an experienced Westmeath side.
