Portlaoise made light work of St Joseph’s today to qualify for their 12th Laois SFC final in-a-row.

The town outfit dominated from start to finish and powered to a 4-15 to 1-9 semi-final success.

First-half goals from Ricky Maher and Ciaran McEvoy helped establish a 2-9 to 0-2 interval lead and Paul Cahillane and Scot Lawless got in on the goal scoring act after the break.

The only negative from their point of view was a red card shown to Bruno McCormack which will rule him out of the final against O’Dempsey’s.

O’Dempsey’s secured their final ticket thanks to a 2-12 to 0-14 semi-final victory over Graiguecullen today.

Mark Barry and Dan McCormack netted second-half goals for the winners as they advance to first SFC decider in 35 years.
