Laois captain to miss Leinster final with fractured skull

June 11, 2018

Laois' Stephen Attride is stretchered off injured during the Leinster SFC semi final clash with Carlow at Croke Park

Laois' delight at reaching their first Leinster SFC final since 2007 yesterday was tempered by a serious head injury to captain Stephen Attride.

Attride took a bang to the head after colliding with Ciaran Moran during the closing stages of the semi-final against Carlow in Croke Park and was detained in the Mater Hospital last night after x-rays revealed that he had suffered a double fracture to his skull.

The injury will rule the half back out of the provincial decider against holders Dublin on June 24.
