We're at the business end of the national football and hurling leagues and five crucial matches went down for decision today.

Silverware was up for grabs on the double at Croke Park as Carlow faced Laois in the FL4 final at 3pm followed by the meeting of Fermanagh and Armagh in the Division Three decider (5pm).

We learned the identity of the first of this year's national hurling league Division One finalists when Munster rivals Tipperary and Limerick faced off in an epic semi-final at Thurles at 7pm.

Meanwhile, there were also two important rearranged fixtures in Division Two of the football league, which resolved who would be relegated to the third tier for 2019. Down entertained Tipperary in Newry and Louth welcomed Meath to Drogheda, both at 3pm. The Wee County had already been demoted, but which of their neighbours would take the plunge with them?
