Laois have received a major boost ahead of the start of the Allianz Football League with the return of Donie Kingston to the fold.

The powerful attacker has rejoined the panel ahead of the O'Moore County's Division 4 opener against Limerick in Portlaoise on Saturday week, January 27.

The news has given Laois an unexpected lift after new manager John Sugrue had revealed in November that the Arles-Killeen clubman would miss the Allianz League and would be playing basketball for the winter instead. Indeed, there were fears that Kingston would not figure at all for the midlanders this year.

The 27-year-old missed Laois' two defeats to Westmeath in the O'Byrne Cup.
