Kilkenny, Dublin and Wexford were the winners in tonight's Walsh Cup matches.
The Cats were in ruthless mode against Laois at O'Moore Park, where goals from Richie Reid (2), Conor Martin, Chris Bolger, John Donnelly and Sean Morrissey fired them to a an emphatic 6-24 to 1-11 victory over Laois. The holders led by 3-8 to 1-5 at the short whistle, with Patrick Purcell netting the hosts' goal.

At Hollymount, Carlow really put it up to neighbours Wexford and the sides were locked on 0-15 apiece before Cathal Dunbar netted at the three-quarters stage to set the Model County on the way to a battling 1-20 to 0-18 success.
And Pat Gilroy's reign in charge of the Dublin hurlers got off to the best possible start at Abbotstown as the Dubs cantered to a 4-17 to 0-14 victory over Meath. Goals from Robbie McMahon and Fionn Ó Riain Broin had the winners ahead by 2-11 to 0-7 at the break and they kicked on comfortably, with Cian McBride and Ó Riain Broin netting in the second half.
