Hennessy stands down as Meath ladies manager

March 29, 2017

Former Meath ladies senior football manager Eoin Hennessy

The Meath ladies senior football team are on the look out for a new manager following the resignation of Eoin Hennessy.

The Kilkenny native took over from interim manager Jenny Rispin at the beginning of the 2016 National Football League campaign. Rispin replaced Diane O'Hora. The former Mayo star, who guided Down to intermediate honours in 2014 parted from the Meath set up with a strongly-worded resignation letter.

Meath were relegated from Division 2 of the NFL last year and despite a good start to this year's Division 3 campaign the Royals have just two wins and a draw to show from their six outings. Meath take on Leitrim in their final game.

A win this Sunday in Ballinamere and a loss for fourth place Offaly could see the Royals into the semi-final.

A statement from the Meath Ladies Board stated:

As of Tuesday March 28th Eoin Hennessy has stepped down as Meath Ladies Senior County manager! An interim management team has been put in place for the final game of the National Football League against Leitrim.

Meath Ladies would like to put on record our thanks to Eoin and his team of mentors. We would also like to wish Eoin the very best for the future!
