Cora Staunton (2) and Yvonne Bonner both kicked goals but their efforts proved to be in vain as Greater Western Sydney Giants lost their opening game of the 2019 Australian Football League Women’s season today.
The two Irish imports and their GWS Giants team-mates lost out by 4.5 (29) to 4.3 (27) to the Brisbane Lions.
Donegal’s Bonner marked her AFLW debut with a six-pointer in the opening quarter.
