Kerry ladies deducted points for fielding unregistered players

Kerry ladies footballers have had three points deducted

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association has deducted points off Kerry for a breach of rules during their Division 1 clash against Mayo at the start of February.

The Kingdom ladies are alleged to have fielded three unregistered players which is a breach of rule 55 of the official guide.  

In a statement released today, the LGFA confirmed that the three points have been awarded to Mayo whom had lost the game in Brosna by 2-14 to 2-6 on February 4th.

The statement read as follows:

"The Ladies Gaelic Football Association can confirm that Kerry have been deducted three points from their Lidl NFL Division 1 fixture against Mayo on February 4, having found to be in breach of rule 55 of the LGFA official guide. The three points from the game have been awarded to Mayo."

Rule 55: Any team proved to have played an unregistered player shall be fined €100 per offending player and shall forfeit the game to their opponents, unless exempted by rule 260.
