TG4 All Ireland champions Dublin defeated Ulster champions Donegal on the opening day of the Lidl National League with a new-look team eager to impress.
'We are the champions for 2017 but we have nothing going into this year', says goalscorer Rebecca McDonnell, who is one of several players staking a claim for a regular place.
'New girls are stepping in, which makes the competition better. Oonagh Whyte, Eabha Rutledge and Katie Murray all had a big impact on the game'.
Dublin won by 2-5 to 0-7 and will take on Westmeath next Sunday.
