'Cha' speaks out about Kenny incident
August 21, 2008
Kilkenny's James 'Cha' Fitzpatrick has spoken about the incident with Cork opponent Tom Kenny which has led to the Rebel's four-week suspension.
'Cha' had to be taken off the playing field at Croke Park during the All-Ireland Champions nine-point defeat of Cork earlier in the month, after Kenny struck the Cats' skipper in the groin area with the butt of his early in the closing stages.
The Ballyhale Shamrocks clubman returned to action last Sunday for his club and is now relishing getting back to training for Brian Cody.
"I suppose it was sort of a nasty incident," admitted Fitzpatrick.
"I'd say it as more out of frustration than anything else. But that's in the past now and I'm just looking forward to getting back into training for the final," he added.
Kenny is unlikely to appeal the suspension handed down by the CCCC, which means he will miss out on Cork's opening Munster SHC game of 2009.
