Mulrooney lauds players

August 15, 2008
Kilkenny minor boss Richie Mulrooney praised the work ethic of his players after they qualified for the All-Ireland final with an emphatic win over three-in-a-row chasing Tipperary. "There's no shortage of ability or work ethic in the camp, and our motto throughout the year was one of work, work and more work," he said. "It remains to be seen if we can do so again in the final versus Galway or Cork, but there's no reason to believe this group of players won't give it their all." Reflecting on Sunday's performance, he said: "We defended as we should have done, and at the opposite end the work-rate from the forwards was constant and selfless. "Joe Brennan is a superb hurler and terrific young man to work with, Thomas Breen stepped up when required and Martin Gaffney got himself into a useful position for the goal."
