A former Meath club footballer has expressed how important cardiac screening is to the GAA.

Last year, Curraha's Danny Battersby ended up in an induced coma having collapsed during a game suffering from a cardiac arrest.

Fortunately for Danny, medical experts were on hand to save his life and although his life has take a totally different turn than what he planned, he still has a bright future ahead of him.

In a heartfelt message posted on his facebook page, Danny expressed the need for cardiac screening to be carried out in every GAA club in the country.

He also gave an update of his own battles to make a fully recovery.
