A Kilkenny supporter who was critically injured in a road accident on his way home from the All-Ireland SHC qualifier against Waterford is on the road to recovery.

Ballyragget man James Kelly whose brother Kevin is part of the Kilkenny squad had been at the game at Semple Stadium before being involved in a collision with another vehicle on his way home from the game.

Kelly was brought to Cork University Hospital where he was in a critical condition, before he was transferred to South Tipperary General Hospital in recent days.

The young father is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries and should return home to his family in the not so distant future.
