Shelly Farrell has acknowledged that Kilkenny's All-Ireland senior and intermediate camogie double at Croke Park today will soften the blow of losing last Sunday's hurling final.

"It's about time the girls are bringing something back into Kilkenny. The lads have been doing it for long enough," she told RTE after Ann Downey's charges ended a 22-year wait for O'Duffy Cup honours.

Commenting on her second half goal which effectively ended Cork's three-in-a-row bid, Farrell said: "They were always up on our backs. It was great to get the goal, but it was the girls who passed it to me - it was their goal."

A homecoming for the two All-Ireland winning teams will take place tomorrow at about 7pm outside Kilkenny Courthouse. The teams will travel by open-top bus from MacDonagh Train Station at 6.30pm down John Street, over John's Bridge, up Rose Inn Street, up High Street to arrive at the Courthouse.
