Kilkenny captain Shane Prendergast is in no doubt that the Cats will be back battling for honours next year.

Following last Sunday's defeat to Tipperary, there are many who believe that this is the end of the line for this current Kilkenny side.

However, Prendergast is adamant that the pain of losing this year's decider will be used to drive them on.

"It will be a winter of deep reflection. We have been at the top so long. It is hard to keep it going every year," said Prendergast.

"Obviously, we will come back with the ambition to win, and we will work through the pain in the hope we can do better the next time."
