Cork GAA are preparing to mark the 50th anniversary of their 1966 All-Ireland SHC success.

The Rebels beat Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final to take the Liam MacCarthy Cup to the banks of the Lee for the first time in twelve years.

The players from that side will be honoured by Coiste Chontae Chorcai at a function in the Imperial Hotel on Friday, August 26th.

There were no teams from Connacht or Ulster involved in the championship at the time. Cork qualified for the final by beating Clare (after a replay), Limerick and Waterford to win the Munster SHC.
