One of hurling's all-time greats made his return to the football field yesterday after a 14-year absence.
Kilkenny legend Henry Shefflin lined-out for Ballyhale Shamrocks during the club's intermediate league clash at home to Graignamanagh.
Hurling commitments had dominated Shefflin's career over the last decade-and-a-half but after his inter-county retirement in 2014 the 10-time All-Ireland SHC winner has found time to delve into both codes at club level again.
While his contribution yesterday ended up being in vain, with Ballyhale suffering a 2-9 to 1-6 defeat, the Shamrocks' footballers will no doubt be thrilled to have regained the services of their club icon.
