Brennan takes charge of Cats U21s

November 10, 2015

Kilkenny's Eddie Brennan

Eddie Brennan was last night named as manager of the Kilkenny U21 hurlers.

The 37-year-old former Black & Amber attacker cut his managerial teeth when he led Lisdowney to a junior county title in 2013. The Sunday Game panelist succeeds Brian Ryan as the Cats' U21 boss.

Eight-times All-Ireland winner Brennan will have plenty of experience at his disposal as it has also been confirmed that history-making senior manager Brian Cody will be involved with the U21 backroom team in 2016.

Kilkenny won the last of their eleven All-Ireland U21 titles in 2008.  Brennan was on their all-conquering 1999 side.

Meanwhile, Cody, Pat Hoban and Pat O'Grady have been retained as managers of the Kilkenny senior, minor and intermediate hurlers respectively.
