Kilkenny's ability to keep things simple has been a key factor in their success down the years, according to Seamus Hickey.

And the Limerick defender believes other teams are wasting their time trying to outfox them!

He told the Irish Daily Star: "Sometimes you can actually tie yourself up in knots trying to do something different.

"Kilkenny just do the same thing. There seemed to be such an ease about the Leinster final, the second, the Waterford game in the semi-final, such an ease, an habitual nature to it, that they just seem to have this flow.

"I saw it again in the second half of the All-Ireland final. I've nothing but admiration for them. I'd know an awful lot of the players. I went to college with them. I just sit back and have to admire them every year.

"You have to ask what their fundamentals are. It's simplicity and I look at them, it's all attitude and mentality. They're grounded, humble lads and all they want to do is hurl.

"They go out there, they don't do anything complicated. Of course, they'll have a game-plan, but they keep it so simple. The quality of their hurling is such a high level consistently. How do you break it? I don't know."
