Kilkenny are sweating on the fitness of Eoin Larkin ahead of Sunday week's All-Ireland SHC final against Galway.
The experienced James Stephens forward is understood to have suffered a broken thumb during a training match in Fota Island on Saturday. Recovery time for a broken thumb takes a minimum of three weeks, which leaves a major question mark over Larkin's participation.
The 2012 All-Ireland winning captain has started every one of Kilkenny's eight All-Ireland finals since 2006.
Larkin's club-mate Jackie Tyrell remains a doubt for the final after undergoing an operation on a stress fracture to his ankle before the semi-final win over Waterford, but both Richie Hogan and Richie Power are on course to play.
