Manager Pat Hoban is looking forward to bringing his Kilkenny minor hurlers back to Croke Park.

The Black & Amber qualified for a July 5th Leinster final date with Dublin when defeating Laois by 13 points at Nowlan Park last weekend.

"The performance was an improvement on the one against Wexford. This was always going to be a serious test," Hoban notes in The KIlkenny People.

"With the Leaving Cert and everything, we were coming in a bit cold. The team had never played together before but the lads all responded very well to the challenge.

"We went with the wind in the first half. We got a good start and settled into the game. The lads drove on from there.

"We are delighted. We wanted to improve and we did. We have won nothing but the right to go to Croke Park for a Leinster final. We will have to improve big time again. I watched Dublin - they are big, strong and athletic. They will be a serious challenge.

"It is great to be going back to Croke Park. I knew we were good enough to win but there were a lot of unknown factors. We have to improve but we have lads with a lot of medals and a lot of success behind them. They know how to win, which is a huge plus."
